Why do mobs look chunky or wrong colour in Optimum Realism

The pack ships custom mob models (sleeker iron golems, varied villager faces, redesigned wardens). Without the right mod, you see vanilla blocky mobs.

You need the CEM (Custom Entity Models) mod. It's built into OptiFine. For Iris+Fabric, install Entity Model Features (EMF) and Entity Texture Features (ETF).

Which loader are you on?

Install Entity Model Features (EMF) + Entity Texture Features (ETF). Both Fabric mods, both required. EMF reads model overrides, ETF reads texture overrides.

  1. Download EMF and ETF for your Minecraft version from Modrinth
  2. Drop both .jar files into .minecraft/mods/
  3. Restart Minecraft. Mobs render with our custom models.

OptiFine has CEM built in — no extra mod needed. If you're already on OptiFine and still seeing vanilla mobs, update to the latest OptiFine preview.

Use CIT Resewn + Entity Model Features (Forge port). Forge support for CEM is patchier than Fabric — Iris+Fabric is the cleaner path if you have the option.
