I was charged by mistake / want a refund from Optimum Realism on Patreon — what can I do

Patreon handles all billing and refunds, not us. It bills upfront when you join, then on the 1st of each month. To stop future charges, cancel your membership. For a refund, request it through Patreon — within 60 days you can do it yourself from your billing history.

First, the honest version: Patreon owns the entire payment flow. We never see your card details, and we can't charge, un-charge, or auto-refund anyone — Patreon does. So this page is about how Patreon's system works and where the real off-ramps are.

Why you may have been charged when you didn't expect it

  • Patreon uses charge-upfront billing: you pay the moment you join, then again on the 1st of every month (around midnight US Pacific time).
  • So joining on, say, the 28th and getting charged again on the 1st is only a few days apart — that's Patreon's renewal date, not a double charge.

To stop any future charges: cancel

Cancelling is instant and stops the next bill — you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. You can manage or cancel your membership anytime from your Patreon membership settings.

To get money back: request a refund through Patreon

  • Within 60 days of a payment you can request a refund yourself from patreon.com → your billing history → the charge → request a refund. Pick a reason and submit.
  • Refunds are at the creator's discretion — the request comes to us to approve or decline, and Patreon doesn't refund automatically. For a genuine billing mistake we'll sort it out; just send the request.
  • Outside the 60-day window, contact Patreon Support directly.

If something looks wrong with your charge, reach out — calmly flag it through Patreon's refund request and we'll take a look. The goal is that nobody pays for something they didn't mean to.
